So I can handle unsubstantiated rumors that Google will be buying The Wall-Street Journal, or even NBC. But this is just preposterous:

Google has submitted a patent for psychological profiling of users. … by tracking their online behaviour, which could then be sold to advertisers.

See the full article for more. So not only will they be tracking what we think, but they’ll also be able to know what we see:

With Eyebox, brick-and-mortar advertisers can determine which billboards or products people are looking at in mall corridors or on store shelves, and count them in the same manner that Google counts clicks for online ads.

Um, so, apparently the UK military has just launched their new satellite platform, Skynet.

According to the site, it:

will provide super-fast communications to military forces anywhere on the globe
is a redundant system
is impervious to hacking or jamming
can remote-control “predator drones”

Did this honestly never raise any red flags in anyone’s mind as they were making it? Scary.

Google launches TiSP

Google has finally announced it’s launch of TiSP, it’s new free, end-to-end broadband service. Be sure to go to the “Get Started” section, to see how this wonderful new service works.

I’ve got to say, Google sure knows how to do April Fools sites properly. Next year, I hear they’re going to be posting an article on how to grow your own spaghetti tree. Bet it goes great with Google Gulp.

birth of a site

So here we go, the very first post on MattMollon.com. There’s really not much that can be said at the moment. Feel free to browse around, but let’s be honest, you’re probably here to take a look at my works. And if you’re not, you should anyways.

Maybe in the future, I’ll decide exactly what it is I want to do with the site.
